Harry's Big Sisters
Harry's Big Sisters' hand-made hair clips and hair bows are a little different from those you see on the high street.
I'm a mum of three who lives in Aberdeen, Scotland, and, fed up of buying hairclips for my little girls that either fell apart or fell out, I decided to make my own. My range now includes hairbands, hairbows and hairclips. Every item is lovingly, and meticulously crafted and will withstand prodding and pulling! The bows and clips are all handmade here in Scotland at a family dining table (with three youngsters "helping", quite often), not bought ready-made, and each item is lovingly handcrafted without any harmful wires. The metal clips we use are, we believe, the best and the strongest available (we've tested quite a few!) and give exceptional hold in even a few strands of fine baby hair. Our ribbons are constantly being changed as we seek out the best polka dot or animal print available.
My designs feature a huge variety of ribbon from pretty pastels to funky dots, camouflage and pirate prints and embellishments including Swarovski crystals, marabou, handmade ribbon twirls, buttons and pearls. I make single bows and smaller ones, in pairs, which can be worn individually or together. My hairbands feature sturdy ribbon-covered plastic bands which are lined with velvet to give extra grip. All our clips feature special liners which will give a far better grip in hair than velcro, velvet or any other type of liner - try them and see!
The range now also includes pretty bow holders,personalised hairclips, embellished socks and "couture" bows.
(And just in case you wondered, Harry's big sisters are two little girls, aged five and three, with a passion for dressing up, pink and anything sparkly. Harry, too, though just two years old, is often seen in a pink tiara ... just wait until he's old enough to fight back).
Our bows and bands are currently available from more than twenty lovely gift shops, shoe shops and high-end clothing boutiques across the UK - and there are more to follow.
