Cuckoo Toys
Having been in the Giftware Industry for over 30 years, our Managing Director Tony Eves established Cuckoo Ltd, based here in Harrogate, in 1990.Initially from an office, Tony started importing fashion jewellery, cushions and mobiles. These proved to be very successful and a good platform to establish Cuckoo Ltd. in the Giftware Industry. Sustained growth meant adding to the range by introducing Lace Nightdresses (all designed by our in-house design team in India) and developing the Ethnic range. This was all done with an eye on current and new fashion trends.
In 1996, while on holiday in the United States, Tony's daughter Annie, fell in love with with a soft toy called Hermit the Crab. The quality and thought that went into the design so impressed Tony, that he tracked down the manufacturer. He found that Hermit was made by Mary Meyer, an old and established family run company with an excellent range of quality products with proven sales across North America. More importantly they had a desire to expand. The rest, as they say, is history! the growth of Cuckoo Ltd. has been meteoric. Our customers will tell you that the Mary Meyer range, which encompasses quality, design and innovation place them firmly at the top of their field.
Cuckoo's aim is to continue to bring new and exciting products to our current and prospective customers, and in 2004 we discovered the amazing range of Alex Toys. Initially we released the Bath time collection but very quickly realised due to customer demand that we would need to expand our offering, adding Style and Craft collections.
Late in 2006 we introduced the Streamline Fun Clock range, which has already proved a huge hit.
